Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Kahn, J.), entered June 21, 1995 in Albany County, which, in a proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78, granted respondents’ motion to dismiss the petition as time barred.

Petitioners, Frank X. Lacosse and Gary M. Bosko, commenced their service as police officers with respondent Village of Menands (hereinafter the Village) in Albany County on March 23, 1992 and March 11, 1993, respectively.
