—In a negligence action to recover damages for personal injuries, the *437plaintiff appeals from an order of the Supreme Court, Nassau County (O’Shaughnessy, J.), dated March 31, 1993, which, inter alia, granted the defendant Robert Seiden’s motion for summary judgment dismissing the complaint insofar as it is asserted against him.

Ordered that the order is affirmed, with costs.

On June 8, 1992, James Elgart, a patient being treated in the medical-surgical unit of South Nassau Communities Hospital for delirium tremens, attacked and injured the plaintiff, Melissa Adams, a nurse employed in that unit…
