This is a proceeding by way of writ of habeas corpus to test the validity of an order made by a judge of the Court of General Sessions committing the relator to the county jail for contempt for refusing to answer certain questions before the grand jury after being ordered to do so by the court.
The relator is an attorney. He appeared in the Magistrates’ *715Court and in the Court of Special Sessions on behalf of fifteen defendants charged with violation of sections 974 and 975 of the Penal Law relating to the keeping of a place for the game of policy, the collection of money for lottery policies…
