The plaintiffs, as assignees of Powell & Ross, copartners, commenced this action in the superior court seeking recovery from the city of Hoquiam of the sum of $232.95, the alleged purchase price of goods furnished to the city by Powell & Ross during the nearly six-year period between March 9, 1908, and December 29, 1913. Trial before the court without a jury resulted in findings and judgment in favor of the plaintiffs for the sum of $35 only, being the value *64of goods furnished by Powell & Ross to the city within three years prior to the commencement of the action.
