A jury convicted Defendants-Appellants Song U. Chon (“Chon”), Alejandro Garda-Rico (“Garda-Rico”), Manuel Cardoza (“Cardoza”), and YCL Corporation (“YCL”) of conspiring to smuggle, transport, and harbor illegal aliens in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(l)(A)(v)(D. A jury also convicted Chon of money laundering in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1956(a)(1)(A)® and (B)(i), and three counts of willfully aiding and assisting in the filing of a false tax return in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206(2). Chon, Cardoza, and YCL each challenge their convictions and Chon and Garda-Rico challenge their sentences.…
