Appellees W. E. Austin, J. L. Ladd, A. P. Owens and F. A. Sears brought this suit against the appellant to recover the sum of $1500, alleged to be due them as their proportion of certain commissions received by appellant for the sale of a tract of 1500 acres of land in Matagorda County, purchased by M. D. Chillson fr,om T. E. Partain. Omitting the formal portions, plaintiffs’ petition is as follows:
