A police officer filed a statement of charges in the District Court of Maryland sitting in Dorchester County, Maryland, charging Marvelus Romulus with three violations of the drug laws. Inasmuch as one of the offenses charged was a felony which was not subject to the jurisdiction of the District Court, Maryland Code (1974, 1984 Repl.Vol.), § 4-301 and § 4-302(a) of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article, the case was transmitted to the Circuit Court for Dorchester County.
