The First Baptist Church of Paducah has about 1,500 members, and has had many years of Christian usefulness. In addition to its usual domestic or local activities, the church maintains one or more missionaries in the home and foreign fields. Recently dissensions and strife have arisen among the members, and between the pastor and the board of deacons, save one.
