Stevens, J.(1) The court had the power to impose sentence after the expiration of the term at which the defendant was adjudged guilty. Sub. (1) of sec. 57.04 of the Statutes expressly confers upon the court the power “in its discretion” to “suspend the judgment or stay the execution thereof and place the defendant on probation for such period of time . . . upon such terms and conditions . . . as it shall determine.” Sub.
