This is an appeal from the Appellate Court for the First District to reverse a judgment affirming a judgment of the circuit court of Cook county against appellant and in favor of the appellee, for §3000 and costs, in an action of assumpsit on a life insurance policy.

On the 18th day of January, 1892, Charles Schweitzer, the husband of appellee, made application for membership in Court Sedgwick No. 176 of the Independent Order of Foresters of the State of Illinois, and became a member of the appellant, and was insured by it in the sum of $1000, and continued in said relation with the appellant…
