On the ,13th day of July, 1889, in the circuit court of the United States for the Northern division of the Eastern district of Tennessee, Vernon K. Stevenson and others instituted a suit against Tip Lovingood, Ki Woody, Columbus Hoss, Jasper Fain, and William M. Marr, citizens and residents of the county of Monroe, state of Tennessee, and William M. Nixon, a citizen and resident of Hamilton county, Tenn.
