This is a class action declaratory judgment suit filed by plaintiffs against the City of Memphis and the variousTnamed individual defendants in their official capacities only. 1 The complaint seeks declaratory and injunctive relief concerning the City's method of calculating pensions of city firefighters with thirty or more years of service who are eligible for automatic promotion to the rank of captain pursuant to Memphis City Charter Sec. 67.
