This is a claim to recover upwards of $25,-000 damages for personal injuries caused by the alleged negligence of the State.
About seven forty-five in the evening of March 21, 1907, the claimant was walking arm in arm with a female companion down Horth Salina street. He was going to the south, towards the Salina street bridge in the city of Syra*593cuse. The planking or floor of the bridge was about three inches above the surface of the contiguous sidewalk.
