The defendant, Brian R. Greco, was charged in a substitute information with the crimes of felony murder in violation of General Statutes § 553L-54C,1 robbery in the first degree in violation of *284General Statutes § 53a-134 (a) (2),2 and burglary in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-101 (a) (l).3 In setting forth the predicate offenses, the felony murder count alleged that the defendant “did commit or attempt to commit a robbery of [the victim] and burglary of [the victim’s] residence.”4
