The four defendants — Feolo, Mastrone, Brabson and Summerfeld — have been convicted of murder in the first degree. The crucial question is whether the trial judge abused his discretion when he denied to Feolo, Mastrone and Brabson a trial disconnected from the issue as against Summerfeld.
