Plaintiff Lucille Richardson, with her husband, Samuel A. Richardson, for some years occupied, as a residence and also for business purposes, premises in the city of Ypsilanti, owned by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, defendants Joseph H. Richardson and Harriet Richardson.

On June 23, 1941, defendants instituted an action before a circuit court commissioner to recover possession of the premises.
