Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Henry Griffin, was found guilty of murder, solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He was sentenced to death. Defendant’s execution was stayed pending direct review by this court in cause No. 62397. Defendant subsequently filed a petition for post-conviction relief. The State filed a motion to dismiss the petition, which was granted by the trial court.
