DUFRESNE, Chief Justice.

The plaintiff, Michael F. Towle, sued the defendant, Robert P. Aube, to recover damages for personal injuries, the total loss of his car, some loss of wages, and for other personal property damage sustained in a collision with the Aube automobile at a multiple intersection in Lewiston, Maine, where Sabattus Street and Campus Avenue meet at an acute angle. Both parties were the drivers of their respective vehicle. The accident happened at approximately 1:00 o’clock in the early morning of August 27, 1967.
