HALL, Judge.

Plaintiff, an employee of the City of New Orleans, sued the City of New Orleans, the Sewerage and Water Board of the City of New Orleans, New Orleans Public Service, Inc., Kennedy Valve Company (and its insurer) and R. D. Wood Company, praying for damages ex delicto in the sum of $47,647.00 for personal injuries sustained by him in an accident which occurred on August 1, 1964. In the alternative plaintiff prayed for judgment against the City of New Orleans for workmen’s compensation benefits in the sum of $14,-000.00 (400 weeks at $35.00 per week).
