Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Rensselaer County (Dwyer, Jr., J.), rendered June 27, 1985, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crime of robbery in the first degree.

On January 16, 1984, defendant and two companions, James *918Bowers and Karen M., a 17-year-old girl, spent the earlier part of the evening "partying and drinking”, then, in a borrowed car, drove to a store in the Town of Sand Lake, Rensselaer County, to buy cigarettes.
