The plaintiff was the wife of George Ronald, and the beneficiary named in the certificate or policy of insurance upon his life in the sum of $5,000, issued to him by the defendant August 23, 1883. She seeks to recover that sum in this action. The defense is that the policy was forfeited by the non-payment of ten dollars, annual dues, which by the terms of the policy became due August 21, 1884.
