The plaintiff, Joseph W. Keating, is a real estate developer. He claims that in 1974 he entered into an oral partnership with the defendants, Louis Allocco, Joseph Marrin and Robert Golding (since deceased and at the time an attorney with the defendant Winston & Strawn), for the purpose of developing a parcel of land in Lake Villa, Illinois, now known as "Deep Lake Hermitage.” In 1984, he filed a five-count complaint, which contained as its primary claim his allegation that Golding, Allocco and Marrin breached their fiduciary duties under the agreement after they excluded him from…
