This is an appeal from a judgment in the amount of $185,000 entered on a jury’s verdict in favor of the plaintiff, Howard E. Waters, in the Circuit Court of St. Clair County in a common law negligence action to recover damages for personal injury that plaintiff allegedly sustained on the premises of the defendant, Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad Company’s piggyback ramp at Mitchell, Illinois.
