Phillip Bates challenges his conviction and sentence 1 for being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) (1988). We affirm.
1. BACKGROUND
On January 1, 1994, United States Fish and Wildlife Special Agent Darwin Huggins was making routine equipment and hunting license checks on a boat ramp on the Cache River in Arkansas when a boat occupied by Phillip Bates pulled up.
