[1] In 2013, Appellant-Defendant Adrian Anthony, along with three other men, committed a violent burglary at an Indianapolis home belonging to R.N. and his wife, B.N. During the burglary, the men brutally attacked and threatened to kill the homeowners, ransacked the house, sexually assaulted B.N., and took the couple’s debit cards.. At one point, one of the men took R.N.’s debit card to a nearby ATM and attempted to withdraw money using a personal identification number (“PIN”) which R.N. had given him.
