On December 21, 1999, the defendant was convicted in the County Court, Westchester County, upon a jury verdict, of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The sentencing court imposed a determinate term of imprisonment of 10 years on the conviction of criminal *835possession of a weapon in the second degree, but did not pronounce a period of postrelease supervision (see Correction Law § 601-d).
