Julio Sanchez-Ruedas was convicted of illegally reentering the United States after having been deported, in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1326. He appeals his sentence, including the application of a sixteen-level crime-of-violence enhancement and the denial of a two-level aeceptanee-of-responsi-bility reduction, on the following grounds: (1) the district court erroneously concluded that his 1995 conviction under CaLPenal Code § 245(a)(1) constitutes “aggravated assault,” an enumerated “crime of violence” under section 2L1.2 of the Sentencing Guidelines; (2) the district…
