An action was brought in the superior court of Fulton county by J. J. & J. E. Maddox against Mrs. Walker, in which they claimed the right to recover $1,073.90. On January 5, 1898, while the trial of the case was in progress* a compromise was reached, and under its terms the plaintiffs took a consent verdict for $700. On the next day, the agreement which had resulted in the compromise verdict was reduced to writing and signed by counsel for the respective parties. By its terms, J. J. & J. E.
