The plaintiff brought this action to recover judgment for damages for injuries sustained by her through the alleged negligence of defendant.

She alleged that the city of Monroe, of which Arnold Bernstein is mayor and H. R. Speed and W. A. Atkinson are commissioners, is indebted to her in the sum of $5,000.00; that at about 9 o’clock on the night of February 10, 1924, while she was walking from her home, on the west side of Hart street in the city of Monroe, Louisiana, going up the west pavement on said street, towards DeSiard street, her foot came in contact with a parking sign post which was…
