This litigation arises out of an automobile collision which occurred at the intersection of Twenty-seventh street and Maple avenue, in the city of Newport News. Joseph Robert Taylor was driving east-war dly along Twenty-seventh street. As he reached the intersection of Maple avenue he attempted to make a left turn and go north on that street. His car was struck by a car being driven westwardly along Twenty-seventh street by Effie Jenkins Turner.

Taylor filed a motion for judgment against Turner to recover damages for injuries sustained in the collision. Turner filed a counterclaim against…
