¶ 1. Darwin Wells Jr. was indicted for the crime of capital murder in violation of Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-3-19(2)(e) (Rev.2006). Following the denial of Wells’s change-of-venue motion, a trial was held in the Jackson County Circuit Court. Wells was convicted of deliberate-design murder and sentenced to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
