HECHT, Justice.

Three tenants brought this action against their landlord after their leases expired. The tenants, alleging they represent a class of similarly situated residential tenants, claim the landlord is liable for damages under the Iowa Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (the Act) because the landlord’s leases included several provisions known by the landlord to be prohibited provisions.
