The corporate defendant entered into a contract with the city of New York on July 26, 1929, for the construction of section 6 of the Rapid Transit Subway System at a price of approximately $6,700,000. On August 6, 1930, the corporate defendant entered into another contract for the construction of section 7 of the same subway at a price of about $2,700,000.
