Defendant, Susan Danenberger, was charged with committing disorderly conduct by filing a false police report (720 ILCS 5/26— 1(a)(4) (West 2002)) that she had been sexually assaulted. She pleaded guilty. After an evidentiary hearing, the trial court sentenced defendant to two years’ probation and ordered her to pay $2,500 to the Naperville police department (department) as restitution for the work that the department had performed in investigating her spurious report.
