October 31, 1944, Johnnie Lee, Betty Jane, and Shirleen Dill were, respectively, fourteen, eleven, and nine years of age. Margaret B. and T. E. Dill — their mother and father — had separated. The husband’s suit for divorce resulted in a favorable decree the following January. He was found to be “. . . a proper person to have the care and custody of such children,” subject to the mother’s right to visit them “at reasonable and proper times.” The children were also authorized to visit their mother.
