Edwin R. Lawrence was appointed, August 17,1891, by the surrogate of the' county of Sullivan, the administrator of the personal estate of his deceased wife, Sarah J. Lawrence, who died February 20, 1888. These appellants were; the sureties upon the bond given by him for the faithful discharge of his duties.
