Amy Bauer, a former member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball *521team, sued the team's coach, Mary Murphy, for, among other things, defamation and interference with a contract. The trial court granted Murphy's motions for summary judgment dismissing both claims and Bauer appeals.

The issues are: (1) whether the remarks on which Bauer bases her defamation action were slanderous per se; and (2) whether Anderson v. Continental Ins. Co., 85 Wis. 2d 675, 271 N.W.2d 368 (1978), requires dismissal of Bauer's action for tortious interference with a contract because her only claim…
