j,FACTS

The trial court quashed the bill of information charging the defendant, Khanh H. Nguyen, with issuing worthless checks in the aggregate amount of $70,000.00 to L’Auberge du Lac Casino.

The defendant was charged by bill of information filed on August 19, 2009, with issuing worthless checks, a violation of La. R.S. 14:71. Defense counsel entered a plea of not guilty on September 21, 2009. The defendant was called for trial on February 3, 2010, and failed to appear.
