Dorothy Brady filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, alleging that her employer, Bristol-Meyers, Inc., had engaged in an employment practice violative of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 1 She sought to invoke federal jurisdiction under 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-5(f) and under 42 U.S.C. § 1981.
