This is a suit in assumpsit by the endorsee against the makers to recover the amount due upon a written instrument in the following words, to wit:

“$1200.00. Bbubakeb, Ill., Jan. 21, 1907.

On or before July 21,,1908, we or either of us promise to pay to Thos. M. Bavin or bearer, at the........ Bank of........twelve hundred dollars, for value received and attorney’s fees with interest at the rate of 6 per cent per annum annually from date until paid without any relief from valuation or appraisement laws.”
