the opinion of the court.

Plaintiffs sued the defendant insurance company on its policy of insurance and what, is termed a supplementary contract attached to and made a part of the policy issued on the life of Raymond E. James. The policy on the life ■ of the insured was in the sum of $1,000; the supplementary contract provided that the defendant should pay to the beneficiaries, the plaintiffs, in addition to the sum provided in the policy, another $1,000 in the event of the death of the insured as the result directly and independently of all other causes, of…
