JANVIER, Judge.

Robert J. Bechtel, a pedestrian fifty-two years of age at the time of the accident from which this suit results, sustained serious physical injuries, including a fracture of both bones of the lower third of the right leg, when he was struck by an automobile owned and operated by one of the defendants, Ramon A. Oriol, III, at about four o’clock on the afternoon of September 16th, 1947, at the corner of Poydras and Baronne Streets, in New Orleans.
