Rosa Reghitto Merlo shot and killed her husband Joseph Merlo on October 4, 1915. She was convicted of manslaughter upon an indictment charging her with murder in the second degree, and she appealed from the judgment pronounced by the court.
Joseph Merlo came from Italy to this country in March, 1907, and on June 29th following, he and the defendant, Rosa Reghitto, who is also an Italian, were married. At the time of the marriage she was about *69030 years of age. She says that prior to the…
