On May 1, 1984, the defendant, Richard Kittle, was named in a four-count indictment charging him with the offenses of unlawful restraint (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 10 — 3), kidnaping by use or threat of use of force (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 10 — 1(a)(2)), kidnaping by deceit or enticement (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 10 — 1(a)(3)), and intimidation (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 12 — 6).
