In the court below respondent Cord sued Bedford Wilshire Company, a Nevada corporation, on three promissory notes executed by the corporation to him, one dated February 28, 1950 in the sum of $150,000, one dated September 20, 1950 in the sum of $145,000, and one dated January 31, 1952 in the sum of $44,000. Each note recited that all of the corporation’s interest in any land scrip and in any stock of other corporations was pledged as security for payment of the same.
