In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, etc., the plaintiffs appeal from so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Rings County (Hinds-Radix, J.), dated March 15, 2005, as denied that branch of their motion which was for leave to increase the ad damnum clause from the sum of $1 million to the sum of $4 million with respect to the injured plaintiff.

Ordered that the order is reversed insofar as appealed from, on the law and as a matter of discretion, with costs, and that branch of the motion which was for leave to increase the ad damnum clause from the sum of $1 million to the…
