People v. Wickham
Michigan Court of Appeals
1DissentFitzgerald, J.
I disagree with the majority’s conclusion that defendant was not denied the right to a speedy trial. The test for determining whether a defendant has been denied his constitutional right to a speedy trial involves four parts: (1) the length of the delay, (2) the reason for the delay, (3) the defendant’s assertion of the right to a speedy trial, and (4) whether the defendant has suffered prejudice because of the delay.
