Mario Leselle Young appeals his conviction of aggravated battery.
1. In his first enumeration of error, Young contends the trial court erred in denying his motion for mistrial when the State’s witness placed his character in issue.
In response to Young’s testimony that he tried to turn himself in to the police, the State introduced the testimony of Detective Andrews who testified regarding the warrant he obtained for Young’s *463arrest, his attempts to locate Young, and finally how he found Young in jail on other charges.
