¶1 The city of Yakima terminated Officer Oscar “Jeff” Brownfield from employment on April 10, 2007. In response, Brownfield complained he was wrongfully discharged and filed suit in federal court, raising both state and federal claims. The federal court granted summary judgment on the federal claims and declined to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over the state law claims, dismissing those without prejudice.
