In November, 1797, Henry Pawling bound himself, under the penalty of fifty pounds, to convey to William Dryden, “when thereunto reasonably requested,” a tract of land described by its metes and bounds. In August, 1817, Thomas Buford, as assignee of this obligation, brought an action of covenant upon it, against Samuel McKee, executor of Pawling, and the suit having been afterwards revived against George Robertson and Patsy McKee, the executors of Samuel McKee, a judgment was…
